Policies/Procedures
Hours of Operation:
From the Hart School House has recently gone through some changes with scheduling and will only be enrolling children ages 2 - 5 years of age for our preschool program. Please inquire with Miss DeAyn regarding these changes by submitting a request via 'Contact' page for preschool program schedules.
Thank you.
Arrival and Departures:
Please have your child arrive a few minutes early giving them ample amount of time to line up at the front door with his/her classmates. When picking up your child, please remain outside until class is dismissed. Children may then be escorted to your vehicle.
Parents are welcome to visit or stop by anytime, providing class is not being interrupted unnecessarily. Please advise Miss DeAyn to any changes to whom will be picking up your child prior to class starting.
If you do require someone else to pick up your child please have them be prepared to show ID before leaving with the child. Only those authorized to remove child will be allowed to remove child.
Child Guidance and Behavior:
Methods of Discipline shall be appropriate to the age and developmental level of the child. I expect the parent’s full cooperation if there is a continuous unresolved behavior problem. I welcome your support and suggestion so that the behavior can be corrected as soon as possible. When the parent is present, the parent is responsible for their child.
Communication:
Communication is very important between parents and teacher. If you have questions or concerns, please call. If your child is not feeling their best and will be absent from school, please call and leave word. It is NOT a good time when bringing or picking up the child for a lengthy discussion. Written notes are always helpful to advise the teacher about changes in normal routine. Parents or the teacher can schedule conferences when needed to discuss the child’s progress.
Health and Illnesses:
In Arizona, health assessments are a necessity, including up-to-date immunizations for each child, and need to be returned to the provider prior to enrollment. All childcare providers are MANDATED AND REQUIRED TO REPORT ANY SUSPICION OF NEGLECT OR CHILD ABUSE. Children will not be admitted when any signs of contagious or infectious disease are suspected. Any child running a high temperature, having diarrhea, or vomiting shall be isolated while waiting to go home.
Program:
The activities planned for the children include a daily circle time, weather, songs, finger-plays, crafts, play-do, puzzles, educational toys, food preparation, music, tumbling, stories, and educational videos. The children play outside at least one half hour daily unless extreme weather exists &/or disruptions in our schedule occur. A purchased curriculum for the preschool educational program meets the Head Start Domain Elements as well as the National Association for the Education of Young Children guidelines for curriculum content and can be viewed at: http://MotherGooseTime.com. This curriculum provides the foundation for the educational structure and is coupled with other resources and teacher experience.
Snack Time:
Snack is served at 10:00am and is done on a rotation basis with each child having his/her turn at bringing in a snack. Water is available throughout the school day. Candy & Gum are not normally available but candy may be available or brought in on special occasions or on birthdays.
Please contact teacher to check for allergies prior to bringing in any food items.
School Rules:
Shirt and shoes are to be worn by all children each day. Backpacks and jackets are removed after entering and placed in the cubbies. Smoking is not permitted by anyone inside or outside the school while on the property. Children must sit down to eat at all times. Only one child is allowed in the bathroom at a time. Television is limited to educational videos related to our curriculum. We “walk” & use our “inside” voices in the classroom. “Mean” language will not be tolerated. The front door is used normally for arrival and departures.
Parental Responsibilities:
Notify school when your child will not be in attendance for the day or if they are going to be picked up late. Pick up your child promptly at the scheduled time. Notify me of any changes at home that may affect your child’s feelings or behavior so that I can be more understanding and supportive of their needs. Fulfill your part of the contract by paying on time.
Acceptance of Policies:
By signing your contract and enrolling your child, you are agreeing to abide by and support these policies. Any changes in these policies will be given to you in writing. All contracts & School Policy/Handbooks are renewed annually for the new school year regardless of enrollment status.
I look forward to your decision in joining our class here at From the Hart School House Private Preschool.
